Default iPad competitors

Here is a rundown of the iPad competitors this year. The iPad doesn't have much competition in the US so far. If and when they arrive, the Galaxy and Folio could be good if their price is less than iPad and no contract is needed for 3G:

Samsung Galaxy Tab. 7" with Andriod 2.2, wifi and 3G. 16GB or 32GB of memory, GPS, and a gyroscope, accelerometer, and a 3.2-megapixel camera, with autofocus and a flash. The cost will be left up to the individual carriers.

Dell Streak. Only 5" with Android 1.6, wifi and 3G. 16gb micro sd card and 5mp camera. Available only in the U.K. and the US. In the US it is $299 on a two-year contract with AT&T, or unlocked for $549.

Toshiba Folio. 7" with Andriod 2.2, with WI-Fi only or Wi-Fi and 3G. Has 10.1-inch multitouch screen, an Nvidia Tegra processor, stereo speakers, a 1.3-megapixel Webcam, two USB ports, an SD card slot, an HDMI connector for sending video to other screens, Bluetooth communications, and 16GB of memory, Adobe Flash 10.1. The price is 399 Euros ($511), but so far it's been announced only for Europe.

RIM Blackpad and HP slate are rumors only.

iPad 9.7"
wifi only - 16gb for $500, 32gb for $600, 64gb for $700
wifi + 3G - 16gb for $630, 32gb for $730, 64gb for $830. No contract required.
