There are probabely spare batteries for sale made especially for the U3, but those will probabely be quite costly. What I did with my X5 was put another battery in it, not designed particulary for X5. Get your battery out of your player, measure the space you have for the battery, write it down, see what voltage is needed (probabely it is 3.7) and find a rechargeable 3.7 volts battery that fits in the player. You don't really need a lot of soldering skills but don't solder too long on the battery because they explode on overheat. The more mAh, the longer the battery will run (in hours, I mean, not in how many times rechargeable). You will need a soldering iron that works decently tho, especially if you have bad luck and the battery wire on the mainboard breaks off, you need to do some damn fine solderings.
