Default MTP Media Transfer Protocol

Hi all,

Thanks for you help on my last post regarding using my Zen V to interface with a car stereo.

The problem with using the Zen's audio output with the headphones or the A/V jack is the payer won't charge.

There is a PlaysForSure connector kit for Microsoft MTP based MP3 players:

PlaysForSure is Microsoft's certification logo that tells consumers that certain MP3 players and other devices will work reliably and securely with designated “PlaysForSure” Internet music downloading services.

Most of the 20 percent to 30 percent of MP3 players that are not iPods are PlaysForSure units, according to analyst Nitan Gupta of the Yankee Group in Boston. Devices from Creative Labs, iRiver and Arcos are PlaysForSure compatible.

More specifically, PlaysForSure incorporates Microsoft's Digital Rights Management scheme. It offers a technology called MTP, Media Transfer Protocol, to let MP3 players, cellphones, digital cameras and video players work with Internet downloading services for both audio and video files.

A. Is there anybody out there using this kit with their car strereo?

B. Does your Zen V charge while connected through the kit?
