Default FCC approves Sprint's next Windows Phone?

Sprint subscribers might not have to wait much longer for the network’s second-ever Windows Phone. The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has certified the LG LS831 for operation on 800MHz and 1900MHz CDMA bands. Sprint’s CDMA network runs on the 800MHz bad, implying that LG’s latest Windows Phone will be making its way to the US carrier.

The design of the LG LS831, from what we can tell based on the pictures submitted to the FCC, is very reminiscent of the Zune HD. Indent the metal stripe down the side of the device and it could almost be mistaken for a larger and souped-up Zune HD. The device appears to include a 4-inch screen and a 5MP camera, as well as a front-facing camera of an as-yet-unknown resolution.

Sprint’s HTC Arrive is just over a year old, so a new handset model would certainly be welcome. Especially since the network’s current selection of Windows Phones is limited to just a single model. Would a Zune HD-like (at least, from a hardware design standpoint) Windows Phone interest you on Sprint?
