Lyrics for Cowon Players

So cowon use the weird lyric thing don't they? Like they don't read from ID3 tags :S
Amirite?

SO... if u have lyrics already in the tag (which i do), and im pretty sure i can create an individual .txt file for each lyric of every song file (via tag&rename), what would be the next step to get lyrics working on a cowon device (specifically i9)?

Aight after a little looking into it it seems it will be a painstaking process to;

a) extract lyrics from id3 tag to .txt or .lrc files for each file/song (tho i bet there is software than can do this sumwhere, i just haven't found it yet)

b) the harder part, importing the .txt/.lrc file into Cowons LBD Manager. There doesn't seem to be a way to do this in batch style, will have to do 1 by 1 by 1 <sigh>

Is LBD Manager a cowon only thing, or can i do this with a different program? What i mean is... the method which cowon use to display lyrics in their devices, does any other program out there do it the same way? (perhaps their stock program is better)

Ok the progress i made so far (for the i9 at least) is I followed this thread which then led me to the awkward task of extracting the lyrics from the tagged file to being a .lrc file.
I then found this but have installed mp3tag but am stuck on how to export the lyrics to .lrc in the same directory as song/file.

Anyone lend a hand?

I'm curious why you would even try to read lyrics on that little screen.....lol.

Yeh im coming to the conclusion its too much hassle for such little gain, i'm giving up hehehe

Just some further information. I used LDB Manager to find and mark lyrics for just one song, guess what?... it overwrote and erased my previous tagged lyrics. In Tag&Rename i opened the file and saw it had replaced my previous tagged lyrics with simply the words 'Cowon D2' (i couldnt choose i9 so i chose D2 when using LDB Manger).

Anyway that's not good. Many programs use tagged lyric information and im not impressed with cowons methods for viewing lyrics on their players.

Did you try Serych’s UCI that displays lyrics? No need for cowon’s awkward LDB manager at all. Not sure if you noticed but I gave you the link to the abi thread up above, but his page is here, scroll down to the English instructions near bottom.

Yeh i did see that, but im still having difficulty working out how to extract (in batch style) the lyrics that are already tagged in the file and placing them in a .txt or .lrc file (in same folder as song).
My favourite tagger (Tag&Rename) seems to be able to do this one by one, would be painfully slow.
