Default Want to buy a Creative player

I have an apple ipod. my computer and itunes never recognize it and it never works. it always freezes and i find myself restoring it and losing all my songs like twice a week. i want something different. i heard that creative zen's were good mp3 players, but i'd like to know more about them. i'd like to know if they ARE better than apple ipods(well anythig IS better than they are), and maybe you could give me some recommendations for what type of mp3 player i should look for.
thanks!

They are good players, but their players don't suit everyone. Sandisk, i audio, and insignia are also good.
what size player and what features would you want?

i had a 25GB apple ipod(the older ones). i just need something that works better than apple!! i've had nothing but problems and it's very very frustrating. i heard that the zen players work very good and have read reviews on them, the only negative review was about the touchpad and how it's sensitive. i don't really care what size it is, as long as it works very well. and i'd like to be in between 20-30GB.

Like Postal mentioned, there are several different compaines that make good DAP's. The question is, what type of player is best for you... Flash or Hard Drive based? Is video important? Battery life? What codecs do you want to see supported? What features do you want? FM radio and the ability to record it? etc. etc.

We will help you, but you have to help us help you.

i'm mainly looking for an mp3 player that will hold a lot of songs, have good battery life, and good sound quality. i'd also like one that will work well with my computer (unlike itunes). i'm not sure of the difference between hard drive and flash based? the radio and recording things are not that important to me. Video is again, not THAT important, but would be nice.

this sony has great battery life, the memory you like, its pretty small

hard drive is usually bigger, flash comes in smaller players
and 16gigabite hd player would be cheaper than a 16 gigabyte flash
my brother told me this, but im not positive.
