Yeah you shouldn't ever read those press releases. They're just written by the marketing team for each journal or organization with the goal of hyping their organization. Often the people writing them have no technical training and are just guessing what the work means.

If you look at the actual source, the results are pretty underwhelming, with higher sampling rates doing a couple percent better than a coin toss. Could be real (and tiny) or just publication bias.
