I don't have a M2, but the 'resume' feature is in relation to when you switch the M2 back on it will 'resume' from where it last left off (so if you switched it off half way through a song then it will resume at that exact point when switched back on). Some resumes work like this, some can't resume at the exact point in the track, but will start at the beginning of the last file that was played.

What yer talking about is 'Play Mode'. You should be able to toggle between a few different modes on your M2 such as 'Shuffle' etc, one of them should hopefully be an option to play through each file sequentially and then just stop, but tbh I'm not sure Cowon does this :S

In regards to yer 3/33 question etc, it might be that different NPS custom firmware will give this info if the stock firmware doesn't. I used Custom firmware on my C2 (which is reportedly said to work on the M2) that perhaps gave this info tho I can't quite recall.
