I'm having the exact same problem as the OP with my new X9!

I love the X9, but between Cowon's worthless tech support, and the various defects (This is my 2nd X9- first one was returned to Amazon due to a battery issue) I'm beginning to think that Cowons are crap these days- and if this problem is not resolved, back it goes, and I will not be buying anymore Cowon products.

If the OP should see this, please let me know if your problem was ever resolved; and if so, how!
