I'd send them the sample files they want. It may very well be that they're aware of the problem but haven't had the specific information needed to create a fix. Your files may contain the information they need. That could help them take the issue from non-deterministic to identified.

It couldn't hurt to give it a shot. It could help all those others that have been renaming their files and dealing with other workarounds trying to get their FLAC files properly recognized.
