The i9 has a manual bookmarking function. It works with all the audio files I have on mine, mp3, ogg vorbis and m4a. All of my music files are in the music folder and it worked reliably on files locared there. It's possible to have multiple bookmarks per file.

Most people prefer an automatic bookmarking function for audiobooks and podcasts. Trying to find where you left off can be a real pain in an hours long book if you leave a file and don't remember to bookmark.

There's also an Audible folder that I believe is for Audible books. I don't use them on my i9 so I'm not certain if it works the same with those. The only DRM audiobooks I use are OverDrive and I use them on a android tablet.
