Default [help] Clip Zip bricked?

Hi!

I just got my Clip Zip refurbished, I updated to 01.01.21, then tried Rockboxing according to the instructions.

Now, my computer will not recognize it, and it won't turn on.

Rockbox will not recognize the unit, either.

Any ideas?

EDIT: Solved after holding the power button for about 4 minutes. Never thought the simplest solutions were the best.

Four minutes? Wow--a new record!

No kidding. I'm already aware that the Zip shuts itself off after 10 seconds, but why I was forced to do this longer beats me.
Sadly, because I installed a 64GB card (with about 7000 files), OFW will begin building the database and then shut off. So I'm locked into Rockbox. Not that it's a bad thing.

Sounds like you need to set your Power Off setting a little higher.

Almost certainly, with a 64GB card and that many files, Rockbox . . . . The original firmware easily and/or likely would just choke . . . .
