Default Cannot copy "song title": the directory or file cannot be created

Hello, new to registering for the forums, but i've been visiting the site as a spectator, and now i have encountered a situation of my own.

I own a C250 Sansa (which i got for x-mas). I'm in MSC mode as i'm using the device as a drive for dragging and dropping.

Now here is where it gets weird. I've only had about 500MB of songs on it thus far but i decided to add a bunch more today, to change it up. So i reached 612MB and decided to keep adding.
But the thing is... it won't let me add more. I know it can't be full because well.... 612 is not exactly even 1GB so....

As the topic states it gives me a message stating:
Cannot copy "song title": the directory or file cannot be created

I don't know why i'm getting this message, i know it's not 1 particular song causing a problem because adding any song will pop that msg. I can delete a song and then add another, but when i try to add yet another it gives me the message again. It's like it's limiting me on purpose, but not based on space.

I've tried formatting the device twice (once in each format MTP, MSC) still nothing, so why am i getting this error if anyone knows, and what can i do to fix it?

Thank You

Create a new folder to add the songs in. I believe this is a problem with the FAT file system that has a limit on how many files you can put in one directory.

So try creating a new folder and tell me how it goes...

I dont think so.

For more infoormation on the issue, do a google search on "Restrictions of the FAT file system" or something to that effect.

Good luck.
