Default Fuze+: Does updating Sandisk firmware affect Rockbox firmware/install?

I have freezing problems with my Fuze+ which I have read might be fixed with updated firmware.

I have Rockbox installed and it locks up on the black screen with white text (says loading "cafebabe" at the top or similar) before the main rockbox logo appears, or sometimes just keeps cycling and rebooting at that first screen.

I read something on Sandisk forums about the constant rebooting being caused by old Sansa firmware when the battery goes flat. I dont' use this device often and I think it is related to the battery going flat.

If this is the likely issue (and if not any ideas?), I am wanting to know if updating the Sandisk firmware affects the Rockbox firmware/install at all?
Thanks

The Sandisk firmware has no effect on rockbox, but updating the sandisk firmware does uninstall rockbox.

Thanks for that, answers my question.

So do you think there is any chance the problem I describe is related to original firmware when I only boot and use rockbox?
