Hey guys,
I just updated my theme lebellium Samsung-like to v1.40 and the Accurate Battery Edition to v1.20.

Changelog for both versions:
- FM radio: New signal strength icons
- FM radio: Stereo icon very lightly reworked (gradient green color)
- FM radio: Move scan/preset mode 1px down
- WPS: Display first and second directory from end of file path if no artist and album id3tags
- Code improved (USB connection looks more stable now)

ABE v1.20:

The original theme can be downloaded in the attachment of the 1st post of this thread as usual and the ABE is attached to this post.
Both versions can also be downloaded on the rockbox website.

I cleaned/improved a bit the code and it seems to me that the USB connection is more stable now but that would be great to have your feedback about that topic

I just updated my theme lebellium Samsung-like to v1.45 and the Accurate Battery Edition to v1.27.

The main reason is that there was a mistake in my code in all my themes since the very beginning. It concerns the battery indicator and the FM signal strength.

rEUD0yNGneUGi9n already pointed it out last year here but I don't know why, I missed that at the time...

The graphical battery and the FM signal strength indicators share a code looking like: %?tag<1|2|...|N-1|N>
I always thought the theme engine divided that into N equal parts but actually it only divides that into N-1 equal parts and N is only there for the 100% state.

Now the battery indicator is more accurate, especially for the "normal" theme version (will display 4 bars battery not only at 100% but also from around 75% to 99% vs 3 bars before) but also for the ABE.

Besides, with the previous versions you would never reach 6 bars of FM signal strength because the 6th bar would only show up when the signal strength = 100% (around 70dBu), which never happens in real life.
Now it's like that:
23-34 dBu = 3 bars
35-45 dBu = 4 bars
46-57 dBu = 5 bars
58-70 dBu = 6 bars
Here is the proof (without cheating) that 6 bars is now reachable if the signal strength is very high:

PS: I displayed dBu in the theme only for test/debug purpose, you won't see it.

Changelog normal version:
v1.45 - March, 30th 2013
- Fix battery indicator code
- FM radio: fix signal strength code
- Replace repeat and shuffle settings text by icons
- Replace white background of the signal strength icon by transparent background
- Code cleanup

You can download it in the 1st post of this thread or here: http://themes.rockbox.org/index.php?themeid=1810

Changelog ABE:
v1.27 - March, 30th 2013
- Fix battery indicator code
- FM radio: fix signal strength code
- Code cleanup

v1.25 - November, 18th 2012
- Add 12-hour clock support
- Replace repeat and shuffle settings text by icons
- Replace white background of the signal strength icon by transparent background

You can download it in attachment or here: http://themes.rockbox.org/index.php?themeid=1809

Upon a user's request, I made a new version of my theme based on the Accurate Battery Edition.

It's called lebellium Samsung-like (Big AA), currently in beta version 0.80
https://www.dropbox.com/s/7adwb7d36n...6x96_v0.80.zip

Play status:
-bigger album art (74*74 instead of 50*50)
-id3tags (track title, artist, album) scrolling on one line (3 seconds each)
-playlist position visible for the 2 first seconds when skipping track
-time elapsed in the left column, total track time in the right column: this was quite difficult to with the theme engine, I'm quite proud of it

Pause status:
-no album art
-the whole screen is used to display id3tags and other useful information

If I see that several people look interested, I may publish it on the rockbox website too.

Excellent work as usual. The AA being centered will take get a bit to get used to but it's still nicely laid out and has enough info to inform without overloading the tiny screen. I like how the full track info comes up when you seek. The time info on the the left and right sides was a bit confusing at first but it only took a couple of times changing playlists to get used to what it's there for.

The best part is that I can actually use your themes now. That was one of the first things when the bug fixes went in a few weeks ago. The instant crashes and file corruption I once got when using your's and dfkt's themes went away with the recent bug fixes. Files transfer to the internal memory OK but fail when I try moving them to external card. Not a big deal as transferring files to the card might fail but no longer causes the corruption it once did.

Having the themes load without having to do all the boot, reboot and possibly having load the default theme just to get a new theme to display makes checking out a theme much easier. I was able to do a quick comparison of three of your Samsung-Like for the Clip Zip without crashing or needing to reboot.

Thanks for your feedback!

The time info was a bit problematic. I believe it's an important info but I didn't know where to put it once the rest was already done. Several clip zip theme designers use the unused space next to the centered album art for a left and right peak meter but honestly I still didn't understand what's the point of it. Okay a peak meter may look beautiful but it's rather useless. Then I thought I could put the time info there instead. It's not optimal and may be confusing as you said, but I didn't find another better solution.

Overall I think this theme is not really practical, I don't like having all tags scrolling on a single line. Therefore I'll probably not use it myself. I only took the user's request because coding it was interesting and enjoyable

I also noticed some USB issues were fixed recently. I'm not sure it's entirely fixed but it's much better now. Most of time it can connect to the PC with my theme. I'm not obliged to switch back to cabbiev2 for file transfers anymore.

Good Day

Here's the Unicode Version of Big AA
Hope You Like it

Tip: Use 09 or 10-Sazanami-Mincho for Fonts

Tip: Use 14-Rockbox-Mix for Fonts
Notes: I make some little changes on the pause screen ;-)

Suggestion for the wps:
Replace the Time Remaining with Left and Right Peak meters

Hum and where's the download link?
'Cause I don't think people will edit my code themselves to change the font

There is no time remaining indicator. There is Time elapsed on the left and total track time on the right.
Those are important info to my eyes contrary to the peak meter which is only used for aesthetic purposes as already stated in a previous post.

@Mikerman: thanks
