Oats(Oatmeal) will also work, though they aren't as clean as rice so they might leave a powdery residue on your Clip.

The absolute worst thing you can do (although everyone seems to forget this and try anyway) is attempt to turn on an electrical/electronic device when it is known (or suspected) to be wet! Unless of course, you want to guarantee it will be fried and never work again.

Rice is pretty inexpensive; much less than a new mp3 player. You don't have any grocery stores near you?

And, no absolute need to use rice--it just helps the drying process proceed faster. Just leave the player out in a warm place for 3-4 days, until it is thoroughly dried out inside.
