Anyone else have this issue?
Roughly every week or two, out of the blue, I'll notice that the SGP has gone back down to roughly 20% screen brightness. I'll manually reset it to roughly 90%...and then, at some random time, it will reset itself to "dim". Not the end of the world but if there's some known fix to this it would be good to know. Thanks. Happy New Year everyone. |

I've had a custom ROM on mine for a long time, so I can't be sure what yours is like...but is there an auto setting somewhere that may be kicking in?

Well, not that I know of, but if anyone does, any pointers would be appreciated. The behavior doesn't seem to be linked to anything in particular. Just at some random point every week or two, it will all go dim until I reset manually.

On my Player 4.0 if I have the brightness set to the lowest, the display will brighten by 10-20% all by itself half the time I turn it on. It used to be annoying, until I found the unmarked brightness level shortcut in the status bar.
Not the same issue exaxtly, but somewhat similar. |

But the 5 does not have ambient light sens and does not adjust screen brightness automatically like the.4 does.

I have autobrightness off, so that won't matter.

It's doing it more often now. Pretty annoying.

Mine hasn't done this but has trouble showing the full battery charge. It usually displays 80% when full. The compass doesn't work either. I still love it for a player.
