Russia to get the Alcatel One Touch View by the end of the week
Two months ago, Alcatel-Lucent and TCL announced the Alcatel One Touch View and noted that it would be released in Russia at some point in the near future. As it turns out, the release date is scheduled for December 15.
The Alcatel One Touch View isn’t all that impressive specs-wise, due to its 4-inch IPS LCD WVGA display, 1GHz Qualcomm MSM7227A processor, 512MB of RAM, and just 4GB of storage. It also comes with a 5MP camera, VGA front-facing camera, and a 1,500mAh battery. After the specs on recent Windows Phone 8 devices, this Windows Phone 7.5 device comes off as somewhat low-end. Although, to be fair, it’s intended to be a cheaper phone. The strangest thing, however, is the lack of a physical hardware button for the camera. This is a first for any Windows Phone, and its exclusion is both notable and disappointing.
The device will retail for 6,990 Rubles – less than the originally-anticipated 7,990 Rubles or $256 USD – and it will come in both black and Dutch Orange. While I don’t know if I’d use the Dutch Orange variant as my daily driver, it’s kind of a nice color. What do you think?
