Hello,
My name is Carlos and I live in Portugal. I have the following problem. I bought a Sony Walkman HWZ-E460 and when I try to synchronize musics (eg: live albuns) with Windows Media Player or Sony MediaGo I have gaps between musics. In an old Walkman I donīt have this problem. How can I solve this problem? Thank you. |

The only way for a Sony to play gapless is if you rip the cd to .WAV. Otherwise a Sony Walkman is not gapless, and there's no way to make it play mp3's gapless.

I believe the large files are unpreventable. IIRC the file size for a .WAV file is about the same size as the original CD track.

Although it's likely to be impractical, one way to get gapless on a Walkman with MP3 files is to rip the entire CD as one MP3 file. I did it with Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon and it worked.

My understanding is that the album must be listened to without gaps to be heard properly and so I saw it as the best choice to test the rip-it-as-one-file to get gapless. However, one review I read of the album said that it was designed to be two parts with a gap between side one and side two. For a time I maintained two versions of the album, one that is one large MP3 file, and another with each song as a separate MP3 file.
