I wonder if the noise-cancelling buds are any good. They have a 3-star amazon rating, but I don't know if that really says much. Time for some google action.

I always take Amazon reviews with a grain of salt, unless the review is written by someone I actually know.

Sorry, I don't use noise cancelling headphones so I couldn't say. I'm too rarely around continuous noise where they would do me any good so I've never investigated them.

I just ordered these for $36.89: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...ls_o00_s00_i00
The reviews of the company selling hem on Amazon are quite promising, so I'll see how good they are when they arrive.

Used from Blinq, "Like New" (damaged box), and I rarely to never do pics. I'll just say they sound good or bad,...that's the scope of my reviews.
![]() I did get a set of these from Sony, at half price. I've used them with my Lumia 920, Sony S639, and my Cowon D2+. The sq, for the price, is fantastic. The volume is perfect,...I luv 'em. https://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/st...GlRvdVnXpioeDE

The thread on them already expired, and Sony was selling the Z Series walkman for 50% off on Black Friday. It was actually a good deal,...

Thanks Darkside. The ToysRUs promo is the best right now (NWZ-E464), and it's such a tease. The Add to Cart button is clearly highlighted and I see the darn $45 price tag, but it won't let me select a store. lol! Darn! I could pair with a Klipsch S4 (amazon sale for $50 right now), and add some Comply tips, MEElec ear hooks, and I'm set for about $100.
^^ above is workout gear for my sis. She's never used anything remotely as good as the Klipsch's and her last old Sony A Series didn't match the SQ of my newer E-464. Would've loved to hook her up with a MAJOR upgrade for X-mas on the cheap...the search shall continue ![]() Carry on fellas, sorry if I detracted from the op... |

Thanks for the tip, I may end up going that route if I experience buyer's remorse down the road lol. Ended up picking up MEElec's Sport FI-6 for $30 (Groupon special) instead. Originally, primary concern is they stay in during workouts, and from what I've read the S4's were comfortable and small. But the new straight plug ruined it for me. I need something durable , and sounds good. Yes 2 yr warranty, but why deal with the hassle if they end up breaking.
The FI-6 I know will sound better than what she had before (don't even remember brand, but they sucked), and should stay in I think. Planning on getting some comply tips to go with it, plus I have a monster tip collection, sony hybrid collection she can try too. What's the size on those E-10's, build quality, type of plug? |

E10 review here http://anythingbutipod.com/2011/08/s...ic-e10-review/
The plug is straight and the build quality is better than the S4 in my opinion. They're medium size, comfortable and lightweight. I wear my IEMs with the cables over ear and never have problems with them coming loose. Someone who wears them cable down would have to let you know how that works for them. I didn't have the S4 at the time I got the E10 so I won't pretend to be able to remember the sound sig of the S4 accurately enough to do an exact comparison. My memory of the S4 is that the bass bled too much into the mids for my taste. Nothing truly objectionable but I never came to really like them. I got away from the S4 due to build quality problems. The strain relief going into the speaker housing split and the sound started cutting out on one side. I got them replaced under warranty and sold them after letting the buyer know the problems I had. After a few months they told me they had the same problems. To be fair, that was a common complaint I don't see as much now. It may be that the ones being made now are better made, idk.
