Ok, so I'm way old school and have never owned a portable mp3 player before.
The past year my main format for listening to music has actually been cassette tapes (yes I'm serious). Anyway, I'm finally looking to breakdown and buy an mp3 player and I have very little idea what's out there. I know that I want something that works with microSDHC cards and also has a screen. I don't need it to play videos or anything like that. My goal is to find a used one on eBay as cheap as possible. I was hoping to spend like $60 but from looking I'm not sure that's gonna happen. What are some good bottom-end players that fit this category? Thanks |

No bottom end with the Sansa Clip Zip, 8GB & expansion slot for around $50.00. I'm running a 32GB card w/her over a year and this little player sounds great

I gotta second the recommendation. This is the player to get when you want simple, inexpensive, excellent sound quality, and the ability to expand the capacity via micro SDHC cards.

There is also the Sansa Clip+. Similar quality to the Zip, just some screen differences. Have a look for both, and take the best deal.
You might also save a few bucks by getting a smaller capacity player, ie 2Gb or 4GB Clip+ or 4GB Clip Zip. Once you add a 32GB microSDHC card, you may be very happy with the capacity. Steve

Same recommendation as those before me. I have the Clip+ & the Clip Zip. The Zip does have a larger screen & can show album art. I purchased a new 8GB from Costco last Christmas season for $50. BB & Radio Shack have the on sale frequently the 4GB for $40usd. They really are the best players in this price range.

You don't have to get the ultra sd card. Just get a class 4. The sansa can only reads up to class 4 speeds any way.
