it seems like it's refreshing whilst plugged in to charge

ok same problem. Turned it on, it's stuck on refreshing at about 90 or 95%. I left it plugged in (to a wall socket) overnight. Woke up in the morning and it's in the same position. Surely a refresh can't take that long? Maybe it's messed up as the first time it refreshed, it didn't complete?

Battery was definitely dead, as a long press of the power button didn't turn it on.

Right now, any time I turn it on it refreshes. So I guess I'll have to format the SD card again with a USB reader? What is the best course now? Just upload a few gigs of music at a time, until it works?

There's no AAC files on there.... I'll look in to the tags. I usually use MP3 tag to update tags, but doing that on 30gb worth may be heavy. Is there any program that will automatically edit a whole bunch of tags in to a format that the Zip likes?
