After owning a pair of MTG's for about a year or so, I think it's time that I discover custom IEM's for a change. Not a terribly big audiophile but I DO care about sound. Been contacting my local audiologists and mostly all of them only carry this brand.
http://www.trytunz.com/headphones.html I've gotten a quote of $210 for both ears molded plus $15 shipping. (Will be only using this for personal listening by the way, no need for stage monitors) Now my concern is, would this be a good way to start my journey for custom IEM's? Or are there any other reputable brands out that are better and can still fit my budget (Less than $300) If anyone has had experience Tunz Duo, your input would be greatly appreciated, as I've only found one site that did a review and lack of reviews on various forums. Thanks in advance! |

I have read about a lot of users buying the Triple.Fi 10 and then turning them into customs. Usually, they get Unique Melody, Fischer Audio, or 1964 Ears to reshell the Triple.Fi 10 for them.

Frequency Range: 20Hz to 15,000 Hz
Just my opinion, but I'd say they're a little low in the upper frequency range for that much money. |

Because the TF10 can be bought for relatively cheap especially around Thanksgiving time when they go on sale for around $100. The remold service from Fischer Audio is also relatively inexpensive from I have read.

Don't think I'd care for the TF10s to be honest. If you add a $200 reshell & $40 dollar cables I think you'll spend in the same ballpark. Personally I'd still go new but to each their own.

I recall Westone having a couple of models of customs in your price range. Check their website.

Forgot to mention AlienEars, probably the lowest cost custom monitors. Starting price for single armature $175.00 but if you go single spend the extra $25 and get the ones with detachable cables. http://www.alienears.com/category/19...ear-mitrs.aspx
