MP3 tagging by folder

Hello there,

I'm reorganizing my mp3 collection. I remember around 10 years back I had a cool utility that let me tag mp3 by folder I think.
I had a tree like this : artist\album\tracknum_trackname.mp3

Does anyone know what I should use?
I'm not too sure about flac and ape files also. Can I tag them? Is there a utility that will let me tag them as I tag the other mp3 files?

Mp3tag should do the trick, it supports FLAC & Ape as well. We have a tutorial here but it's only a basic guide to get started, although there is plenty of great info about it easily available and it's easy to use.

Yes, mp3tag will do what you need. Use the Filename - Tag function, and fiddle with the settings on the format string. If you can't get it, ask me for more specifics later
