Also my requests for longer battery life(25+ hours in Clip sized players, and 40+ hours in larger players), a low power display that is on all the time the player is on, enhancements to make low quality voice recordings more comprehensible, folder and tag browsing, with the ability to disable tag browsing so there is no refresh when a card is swapped, players with more than one card slot, rewind continous through the previous file, and misc other requests.

I want a fuze++ with the same shape and size of the fuze+ but with physical controls like the clip zip. with a less scratch able screen and longer battery life. I went back to using my original fuze as my primary but would upgrade in a second if they released a new player with standard usb.

Default WWSD? (what will Sansa do?)

Something to consider....last year, Sansa released the Clip Zip to the public on August 24. Some review units were out in the wild already at that point, of course, both to journalists and some users (including myself and a few other members here).

It's worth mentioning that they dropped the ball there, IMO...we didn't have much time at all to try and work out any bugs and report them back to the developers before release. And it's well documented that over the course of the year that all the countless user requests for elapsed time/time remaining to be re-introduced to the playback screen were never answered, and the much-advertised AAC support was not implemented very well, especially at launch.

Many of us moved on to Rockbox as soon as we could, and are perfectly happy with the player as a result, as it allowed us to once again experience what the hardware is capable of. I have used it on multiple Fuzes, multiple Clip+, so in November when the first ports were coming out, I didn't hesitate long in adding it to my Zip(s).

So here it is August 22, and this time around, the users that tested the Zip (briefly) before release haven't heard anything this time around. So I wonder...will they even be releasing a player at all? Or perhaps they decided against using pre-release testers? We could have been more helpful to them if they had given us more time last year.

If they were to follow their previous pattern, then this would be the year for a refresh of the Fuze/Fuze+ player...which is sorely needed. As far as I am concerned, if they just added Clip+ type buttons instead of the censored.gifcensored-015.gif touchpad controls, they could have a winner...the Fuze+ sounds just fine.

So I guess we will have to wait and see what they do, if anything....

Sorry guys the new release has had some issues and this year we thought of doing the right thing and holding back. You wouldn’t what to rehash the issues the fuse + we gave you, so hold tight and you’ll have a new player in a few days, weeks, years

If JK98 was made the sandisk CEO even for a week, he would surely get us a new fuze player with some great features made ... and would keep spanking sandisk technicians and engineers till they came up with all of his needed features! Am I right JK98?

I have been still using my 1G Fuze and Clip+ for quite a while, almost every day in fact. But I wouldn't mind getting a newer model, if Sandisk brought one out. I'll be keeping an eye here for any news, should it happen....

I'm sure that SanDisk have got more up their sleeve. Good that they don't discontinue the Clip+. I would have prefered a proper Fuze+ to a Clip Zip with stamp sized color screen...

If you're looking for their new releases, you have to keep an eye here. This is where I've always seen them first ...

It would really make me laugh if they resurrect the original Fuze, especially if it becomes available with 16GB or 32GB built in, and is in new colors.

Wonder if this would be the reason for the latest firmware release. It seemed as if there wouldn't be any more for the Clip+. If a newer model has hardware differences the update may be meant to support the changes.

That link that sid32 provided back then now only gives you a SanDisk home page.
