Default SwiftKey 3 now works on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean

When it comes to third-party keyboards on Android, Swype usually seems to get all of the attention. SwiftKey, however, is another excellent solution, and it’s a favorite of many of us here at Anythingbutiphone, Anythingbutipod, and Pocketables. The latest public release of SwiftKey, version, adds support for Android 4.1 “Jelly Bean,” as well as a few bug fixes like predictions not appearing in popups and some UI text improvements.

This update comes just a few weeks after the initial release of TouchType Ltd.’s SwiftKey 3, which added two completely new themes (one of which is based on the Holo theme found in Android 4.0 “Ice Cream Sandwich), improved the keyboard layout, added new languages, and enhanced text prediction. It can also “fix typos even if you miss spaces as you type.”

Do you prefer to stick with the default Android keyboard, which is much better in Jelly Bean, or are you someone who likes to replace it with a third-party solution?

Just was notified that SwiftKey 3 has saved me 10,000 keystrokes on my phone.....between texts and emails. Worth every penny I paid for the app.
