Anybody know anything about these older players?
My hard drive wore out after about 45,000 hrs this Jan. Copied file folders to comp. while disk was growling. Transfered to a resized (160gb to 100gb) fat32 partition on a newer hard drive and it worked at first but, was glitchy. The partition was slightly over 100gb so, I thought if I resized it down to less than 100gb, it might work better. (I had a 100gb Fujitsu drive on order). After that I have not been able to get it to work with either drive. I'm absolutely devastated by the loss of my player and can not find anything to replace it with. The Cowon x7 I bought got returned as the proprietary usb plug just fell out of the socket and would not make contact even when held in. ( I read that this is a major flaw in the Cowon and Archos). Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. |

Looks like a brick worth saving, but I have never used one. See if it has screws on the back, and swap out the 2.5" drive. I just hope you can locate the firmware.
