I've learned--only buy where there is some sort of buyer protection. eBay has been good most recently, in that regard, although its customer service reps. vary greatly and can be totally unreliable and misleading. (I once called with a basic eBay credit policy question, and got 5 different and contradictory answers from 4 service reps . . . great quality control there.)
