Cowon Z2 Bipolar?

I have recently purchased a Z2 (about 3-4 months ago) and I am overall pleased with it. I don't really ever watch videos, so I'll leave that out, but the sound quality and app compatibility seems to be way up there. I'm just really shocked that the Z2 can handle Shadowgun (In order to start the first level, i had use the home button and reload the app, but it loaded, and is actually very playable. =P) yet when it comes to FFIII, the app has unexplained force closes. Is it just me, or does it seem odd that the Z2 handles a near next-gen game, but it can't handle a DS port?
