Default Watch the full Windows Phone Summit keynote

Microsoft showed off the first major revision for its mobile operating system at the Windows Phone Summit. Most of the news coming out of the two-and-a-half hour keynote was very exciting, such as the redesigned Start screen, shared core with Windows 8, support for NFC and Wallet, better features for businesses, and much more. Current Windows Phone device owners were disappointed to learn that the operating system would not be made available through an update for existing handsets, but the technical limitations would have made updating all phones a technical nightmare, especially because Windows Phone 8 requires many hardware features not found on first and second generation devices.

I was at the event in person to cover the event live for Anythingbutiphone’s sister site, Pocketables. But if you couldn’t make it in person or catch the live stream, Microsoft has made the full video available to watch on its developer website.

What were your favorite announcements? Are there any other major features you'd like to see added?
