Does anyone else have this problem? When I have my (brand new) C2 connected to my PC, all it takes is a little tap on the screen or cable at the C2 end and it looses connection. Do I have a faulty device or is this just a screw-up by Cowon?

You have to push the cable in pretty hard. There's little space for the cable with the latch open, seems the designers didn't think of the cable size.

I gues they didn't
Just have to put it on a flat surface then and sit reaaally still when I'm transfering files!

If you open the flap the other way (push it up towards the screen) instead of pushing it down, the usb cable goes in much easier, and stays in.

I have exactly the same problem:
When I connect USB-cable to the player I have to pressed him very much (with fingers) if I want player being charged or to display in "my computer". The flap opened in both ways gives the same result. It doesn't mater how is it open... I tried "push the cable in pretty hard", to squeeze the cable with taut rubber, to charge the player, but rubber is not enough, i should press it with fingers only... The player is new and i am afraid of "pushing the cable in pretty hard" not to brake it... Can somebody give me a photo of a cable which is properly entered. Thaks. |

there is a black plastic tab at the bottom of the plug end that connects into the c2. you need to push the connector in until the plastic tab hits the body.
i kept pushing and wiggling until it clicked into place - scary the first time you do it. its not clear from a photo as the outer casing blocks your view of it. the flap on the c2 needs to be pushed upwards out of the way otherwise it will prevent the plug from being fully inserted. |

I registered today just to add to this thread! Received my Cowon C2 and for the first couple of hours I figured I would probably have to send it back....as a connection was nearly impossible to get (wiggle it, hold it ...it worked for a while)
You have to push the non-standard (why??) USB connector harder than you've ever pushed a USB connector into a device. Yes, it does click in place and doesn't just dangle there. Of course, when clicked in, it works great. I don't mind it having to press that hard....just ONE sentence somewhere telling me to do so would have saved me a lot of grief! now waiting for my 32Gb micro card to arrive....quite a step up from my old 4Gb Ipod! |

Like what everyone is saying, pull the flap towards the screen or pull up not down and the USB cable will fit easily. I know this isn't much of an issue but the supplied USB cable is a lot thicker than normal ones and it causes a lot of stress to my computer's USB ports. I did RMA the USB cable and it didn't fix the problem. I bought a second cable on ebay and it goes in smoothly.

I wanted to buy C2 for my sister. When I took it home I experinced two things that made me return it back to shop. I still have D2+ that works great, but new C2 user interface is tragic.
As you I also wasn' t able to properly charge the device or transfer files. I tride all my usb ports but I just gave it up eventually. |
