how do i get artist and cd title to come up my on mp3 player

isn't it called a tag? anyway i just got a new mp3 player (sansa clip zip 4bg) and on my old mp3 player alot of my music was put in an "artist unknown and or cd unknown folder". i don't want that to happen on the clip zip. i want to be able to find the artist or cd right away. how do i get the artist and cd tile and song to show up in its proper folder?

so theres not a current track number and total tracks on the zip clip and no place to tell you the total playing time or time remaining? that really sucks. besides rockboxing it is there another way of getting these on the clip zip? it looks like you can go into song info and it shows how long the song has been playing for. i still wish it was on the screen when the music is playing though.

i use windows media player. i looked and remember whats it called. its varoius artists. i have a few cds with diffrent artists on the cd.
