and you want it all for the current Clip Zip price too. Dreamer.

Do you mean 'physical controls', ie not touch screen? Or did you mean 'better physical controls'? Can't tell from wording.

If you meant 'better physical controls'...what's don't you like about the Clip Zip's physical controls?

The closest thing for me, minus a micro sd card slot, is a Sony. Better battery life, great SQ, (mostly) great tactile controls, small & easy to carry.

i don't think there is anything i don't like about the clip zip however i haven't used one. yes i am wondering if there are any competitive products out there like the zip. the fuze is a little big. i played around with it @ BB and i did like it but i can also see where it could get frustrating. i hit the back button and shows the song screen you have to hit the back button again and then the song screen got bigger (it was in the songs section of the players features) and you have to hit the back button again to scroll to another feature that the player has, like radio. it just annoyed me that the song album didn't go away when i pressed the back button to try to go another feature.

@2kitties: Have you considered a Sony E Series player? The controls are great, the sound quality is excellent, battery life way better than a clip+ or clipzip, and it's still nice and small. It's not really all that much bigger than the clip+ or zip.

This might be a good idea. They sound nice and are easy to use as well. I had one a while back and it was a nice little player.

I'll add my recommendation for the E-Series as long as it's a player in the NWZ-E460 series. This series has a vastly improved button layout that makes it easy to use by touch, something I can't say about the previous E-Series players that had a flat button layout.

True, I had the E-345, which had the flat Mickey Mouse-looking buttons, and it was not the greatest for blind operation.

I had one of those and found the controls so unusable that I ended up having to return the player. With the NWZ-E460 series, Sony indented the Play/Pause Button and put a small bump on it, and put a slightly raised ridge around the rest of the buttons. It's a small change, but it's a vast improvement.

One thing to comment about is the the player's user interface (UI). While the basic UI hasn't changed much since the NWZ-A810 series, Sony has added a few nice improvements (such as hitting the option button brings up a set of context-based shortcuts at bottom of the screen). The UI isn't fancy, but it's very easy to understand and use.
