Default HTC EVO 4G LTE and One X slowly passing through US Customs

Sprint customers who pre-ordered the HTC EVO 4G LTE were disappointed last week when the International Trade Commission (ITC) decided to ban HTC from importing two of its devices into the US due to patent infringements. The ruling delayed Sprint’s May 18th launch of the EVO 4G LTE and limited the supply of One X handsets available for sale on AT&T. Thankfully, it appears that handsets are slowly beginning to pass through US Customs.

According to an official statement from HTC, “each imported HTC model must be reviewed by Customs and will be released once Customs officials have completed the inspection.” While the import of HTC’s handsets is more of a trickle than a steady stream, it does give customers some hope. Devices that manage to make it into the country are being sent on to the carriers. With any luck, the EVO 4G LTE’s launch should be just around the corner.

Are you looking forward to finally getting your hands on an HTC EVO 4G LTE?
