Default Motorola and HTC mobile devices banned from the US

The last three days haven’t been good for Android manufacturers. The International Trade Commission (ITC) has banned Motorola’s smartphones from being imported into the US just two days after it delivered a similar ruling on the HTC.

Both companies were banned due to patent infringements, but the lawsuits came from two separate rivals: Microsoft and Apple. Motorola was found to have infringed on Microsoft’s patents, resulting in the cessation of all handset imports, including the DROID Bionic, the DROID 4, and the DROID RAZR. HTC’s One X and EVO 4G LTE imports, on the other hand, were blocked by Apple. This, unfortunately, has caused the two handsets to miss their much anticipated May 18 launch date.

At this point, Motorola and HTC might be forced to capitulate and pay royalties on handset sales in order to bring their phones stateside. Are you upset that HTC was forced to miss its launch date due to a patent dispute?

I think there are too many of these sport of disputes. There's only so much variation that can go into a smartphone...
