![]() Apple often touts Siri’s vast knowledge and ease of use, so it’s ironic that the company would be “betrayed” by its own product. Believe it or not, asking Siri “What is the best smartphone ever?” results not in an Apple product like the iPhone, but a direct competitor: the Nokia Lumia 900, running Microsoft’s Windows Phone OS. This, of course, is due to the fact that Siri is powered, in part, by the computational knowledge engine known as Wolfram Alpha. Wolfram Alpha uses a variety of methods to answer a query like the one posed to Siri, including looking at average customer reviews. This particularly query is based on Best Buy’s customer reviews, but the Lumia 900 continues to maintain a five-star rating on Amazon, even after more than 300 reviews. So while Apple probably isn’t too happy about its own product recommending a competitor, it’s certainly fun to see. Which device do you think is the best smartphone ever? [The Next Web]
