My R1 turns itself off at random moments

I got a second hand YP-R1 recently which I wouldn't normally have considered as it's lack of a SD slot rules it out for me. But it was very cheap and a 16GB model so I bought it.

I loaded the modded Firmware 4.00 before I did anything else so I don't know how this particular R1 behaved previously.

It's a nice unit and works well except that at random moments it will just turn itself off. Sometimes it will play for several hours with no problems and then at others it turns off within minutes of being turned on.

It turns off completely, ie it doesn't go into it's stand-by mode. I'm just using the R1 for audio books so some of the files are much longer than the average music mp3 files so I don't know if that effects things. It always turns back on with no problems.

One other very small thing that has intrigued me is that in the notes for the modded Firmware it mention the start-up and shutdown sounds but my R1 only plays a sound at start-up and never at shutdown...
