Why would you sell your Transcend CF??
I just ordered two Transcend 16 gb CF from Amazon, they're supposed to be compatible for this flash hack. Or am I missing something?? |

Trikon and others, thanks for all the help!!
I was able to upgrade one of my two 'busted' 8gb microphotos into a 16gb using a Transcend Ultra speed 133x 16 gb CF card!! But when I try to go into recovery mode on my other ZMP and attempt to reformat, the player never advances past the 'formatting..' screen. Help anyone?? Thanx |

I have a 32GB Kingston in my Zen Micro. It works exceptionally well.
I also did a 4GB slice for a Removable Drive. |

Just a quick note to let all know that I used this post to hack my Micro and install a 16 gig card 2 years ago and it's still going strong!
I've even flung it to the concrete a few times (accidentally) with no ill effects.. This is a terrific post especially if you hate fruit! Thanks to all who contributed |

I've read every page of this thread and more about this, but no one seemed to mention having battery problems.
I bought the A-DATA 16gb CF 133x speedy card, and I'm still waiting for it to arrive, but, in the tutorial, you specifically say you need a fully charged battery at some point before going any further. The problem is, I can't get my old battery to charge with the broken HDD when I plug it in the computer. I've been recommended to buy a new battery so I won't have to deal with a 1-2 year old battery that may or may not work, but I'm concerned I would have to charge the new battery also. So, I guess my main question is, do you need to charge a new battery you bought off the internet? If so, do you have any other way of charging the ZMP's battery other than using the player itself and a USB/wall charger plug or is it my only option? Thanks! |

It should charge even though there is not hardrive inside. You may want to get a wallcharger if the battery is totally drained & has sat for a longtime without being charged. it's bset to get a real Creative brand charger if not the the wall charger for the PSP is a good substitute.

Well now that I finally have my CF card and everything, I have the exact same problem as this guy, but no one actually answered him or anything. I rolled back to WMP10, I don't have any Creative MediaSource installed anymore. I tried to format it while it was plugged in the computer. I really don't know what to do anymore. Any help would be appreciated |

I had a microphoto stuck at 'formatting' too and couldn't really fix it. I chalked it up as a hardware problem with the microphoto's motherboard.
The upside is you can get a microphoto cheap( <$50) on Amazon and swap your CF card in and viola, you're back in business. Last edited by andreboba; 05-29-2010 at 06:58 PM. |

Just want to reveal that this eBay item, although only 4GB, does work in my Micros/MicroPhoto. Speeds are quite decent.
It would be a good option for someone with a minimal music collection. I didn't buy it specifically for this purpose, but since I had bought it anyway thought I'd try it. About 3.7GB usable space, reliably stores stuff in all of that space. |

Hi everybody and thanks for a great thread!
I dropped my microphoto onto a concrete floor and the HD broke. I swapped it with a Transcend card, and now I can start it into recovery mode, but the touchpad won't work. I've made sure the connectors are ok and I've tried pushing the front while pressing the buttons if a connector still would be loose, that hasn't worked. When I opened the player again, I saw that the small, round, battery on the mainboard, it looks like it's leaking. It's in the upper left corner, at least I think it's a battery. Could this be the problem? Can I replace it? Thanks for any advice you can offer! |

Sounds like a capasitor you would need a new board.
