I mean, I've not built a portable amp before, but I've just built a radio recently for my degree that involved some simple amplifiers, and that was after aeons of lectures and nonetheless vague understandings and calculations. Though I have to say that the cmoy schematic seems really simple and is probably a good place to start off with. But frankly I cannot imagine going through the pain of building any electronic device without a picoscope, dc generator, a frequency generator and a breadboard (none of which i, a first year engineer, possess, especially the picoscope) anymore.

Also, regarding soldering, don't you just take a piece of soldering iron, a soldering gun and... just solder?

Here are a few instructables about CMOY and some other portable DIY amps.

I had also thought of building a CMOY, but saw it could take a lot of time, so dropped the idea, even though I'm good at such DIY. BTW, how does the CMOY compare to portable amps from Fiio etc? I guess no one here might know since hardly anyone here would have built one.

I am building it and this is the exact video I was looking for. LOL last time I tried to watch it I was Hijacking my neihgbors Wifi. There was no broadband connection
