Default Pressure-sensing functions must be supported by hardware, yes?

So I can't just take the S-Pen from the Samsung N7000 and use it on any other Android device. Would that be correct?

It's hardware and software (I believe the pressure sensing only works with Samsung Apps currently on the galaxy note). If you want S-Pen functionality but not a phablet the size of the galaxy note, there is some hope as the next batch of Samsung phones might have S-pen pressure reconition such as the Galaxy S III.
