I'm new to this forum so maybe this has been asked before.
I have a Zune 32 HD and I have to turn the audio all the way up when connected to my car stereo and still have to turn the stereo up twice as loud as compared to the tuner or a CD. I have also tried it on a Sony Shelf system and in my boat. Is this normal, I think I read it is not a true Line Out like and IPOD.
I see and FIIO E5 Head[hone Amp and I wonder if this would boost it

Any mp3 player that you plug in via the headphone jack is going to be like you described. Yes, an amp can boost the sound.

I have the same issue and as steinburger indicated, this is typical. Just stinks when you connect head phones, I've had moments where I forgot and blasted my ears! . . .ouch!

They are asking if it has a 3.5 mm socket to plug the amp in to.
Anyone know the sixe on a Zune or any MP 3 player?

I use mine in the garage alot, and have forgot to check the volume before hitting play with headphones on. Not a good thing.

To the OP, all of mine you have to crank the volume to get anything resembling cd-equivilent volume on my garage rig, which is a couple of year old alpine line in.

Almost all mp3 players use a 3.5 mm jack. That's the standard headphone socket. Like, when I say almost all, I mean almost all. 99.9999999999999999999999% all. The kind of all where you have to go to some janky flee market in po-dunk Peru to find one that is probably not a player at all.
