Shuffle / Battery Life Problems?

I've noticed a strange phenomenon with my Clix (2GB)... Playing a series of albums normally, my battery lasts for quite a while (had it running non-stop today for 10 hours, and it had just gone down to one "tick" on the battery gauge). However, when I select SHUFFLE for any number of tracks, the battery power is reduced to as few as 7 or 8 hours. Has anyone else noticed anything similar???
