Basically you have to edit the .fav file (r0 default playlist file)with a text editor like window's notepad
with mp3tag and notepad open mp3tag, go to tools, option, playlist, uncheck "write external info", create your playlist. Now plug in the r0, go to playlist, choose a playlist, right click and copy to desktop now rightclick on the newly created file on the desktop, choose open, choose notepad (uncheck always use this for this type of files) you will find a text like that SPL PLAYLIST VERSION 1.00 \Music\folder name\songname.mp3 END PLAYLIST remove the lines which end in mp3. Save the file now open the playlist created with mp3tag, select all, and copy. open the r0 fav file as described before, paste after the first space below SPL PLAYLIST VERSION 1.00 *paste here* END PLAYLIST Do not remove the line at the end of the playlist. be sure that every line begin with /music/ (the default music folder of the r0) Rename the playlist as you wish copy the newly created playlist back in the r0 in the playlist folder the r0 limits the playlist to 999 files (songs) and it will take around 15 seconds to open a 999 songs paylist (could it be a relation with this thread? http://anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64866 ). you can create playlist with your favorite programs like winamp, i don't know if removing the ext info is essential or not, you can try to simply copy and paste a playlist created with your favorite programs in the fav file and see if work Last edited by centa; 02-18-2012 at 10:25 AM. |

I confirm that this guide works for \Music folder and doesn't work for folders in external memory

![]() for files being into the sd try something like this: /mnt/mmc/blabla_folder/blabla.mp3 This is the real path on the player itself...maybe it works! Let me know if you test it, because I won't try that since I don't use playlist (nor the original firmware ^^)
