The NW-A845 is alrealy pretty close, but there are some key elements missing.
1/ FLAC support. Something that sounds as fantastic as the A-Series should support at least one lossless codec. 2/ On the fly playlists. 3/ Gapless Playback. 4/ Gorilla Glass. Everyone I know has an A-Series has scratches in the plastic screen. Come on... These 4 things would change the A-Series from great to unbeatable. |

Yea, really how could you forget wav? It's practically got a monopoly on the lossless "market," if you will...

Be much simpler to buy the Cowon that inspired the wish/envy list wouldn't it? Get a amp section that could handle a wider range of headphones and the BBE DSPs to boot.

1. I have only Flac on my computer and converting it not too much of a problem.
2. Don't use playlist. 3. Don't care. 4. Get yourself a case. Got myself an iDelta case: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crystal-Cove...737920&sr=1-22 Tho problem with air bubble which I should have taken more care when fitting it on. Only £5 with the two socks. The only problem I have is in terms of SQ, soundstage seems smaller. If they can fix that, it will be perfect for me. Cowon C2 sounds lifeless to me and BBE was real bad for my headphone. The only one that I tried I was totally happy with was iphone 4 but way too expensive. Might try the iphone 4 lite when it comes out as my next mp3 player if it has the same SQ. Quote:
I mean dur how about using one of your new ones as display model so customers can try out? The Apple store next door was heaving with people because the whole point of the store was to let people try out their products. Only place that seem to have it is Westfield when I rang them up to ask if they had one but I couldn't be bovered to go to try it in the end and just bought it blind. |

Regarding the requested feature of the on the fly playlist.
On the latest A-Series the NW-A85X there is a feature which allows for 5 on the go playlists.... I made a short video to demonstrate it.... it's super easy to use.... Sony is at least trying even though I think they could have made a far more better job by actually listening to their customers and integrating more codec support like flac... but who am I to judge... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcs41...ature=youtu.be

The NWZ-E460 series also offers on-the-fly playlists (called Bookmark Lists) that can hold 100 tracks each. Agree about support for at least one compressed lossless codec, it shouldn't difficult to add it to all future players. One feature I'd like to see added to future players is the ability to delete tracks on the player.
