What is your battery life on this? Using version t27759-100808 reports 7hr 51min.
I keep getting a 30212C72 data abort:
FSR 0x8
domain 0, fault 8
0xEA000002

It also keeps freezing when I reset it, the playback doesn't work at all and if reset again the error returns and it crashes when I switch songs or it plays to the next one.

Should I revert to another build? I've used the archived version and the bleeding edge.

(Never had these problems on my v2)

Even tried with isanggon's build, same problem except its a 30212BCC problem.

Might my hardware be defective? I've tried using an older firmware for Sansa for the bootloader, different versions of rockbox, and nothing seems to make the problem go away. It starts playing a song and then on the next

Its not bricked as I can still use the stock firmware, but its not very useful to me if I can just use the stock.

Maybe run a chkdsk on its memory?

I ran chkdsk and it found some problems. They're supposedly fixed now, but the problem remains, and I have no idea what the code means. Thanks for the suggestion, probably got rid of a future problem. Anything else could help?

Consistantly crashes on next song.

When I tried selecting a song this time, I got a data abort
30212B40
FSR 0x8
domain 0, fault 8
address 0x659DCEA

Also oddly enough another time I selected a song and it took me back, I selected it again and it worked. No matter what though, it always crashes at the next song.

MP3 doesn't crash it, I was using vorbis files before. When I transition from MP3 to vorbis it is okay, vorbis to vorbis is not okay.
Tried to see if it would crash after two different files, Tried MP3-vorbis-MP3-vorbis next vorbis file brings it back to beginning of first MP3 file in playlist, skips it and then goes to the next one. When I put a vorbis file in the beginning same thing happens, whenever it goes from vorbis to another vorbis file.
It never crashes whenever all the files are MP3.
Rather odd player I have isn't it?

Is there some sort of log I can send to rockbox? Thanks.

Got it sorted out on IRC. Turns out it was an OGG malloc problem which they fixed in a few hours. Great service!

Nausicaa. glad you got it sorted out. :-)

Posting this as a reminder that the Rockbox IRC channel is an invaluable source of help for folks having issues with their Rockboxed players [or thinking about making the plunge].

Extremely helpful folks over there.

Yup, they're fantastic!

Too bad all the themes are broken at the moment. Is the battery life always locked at 8hours of play?

This is the thread for the Clip v1, the Clip+ Rockbox thread is here.

The arrow indicates Rockbox accessing the player's memory. Like the light on your PC flashing when Windows accesses your hard disk.

Made a new theme...

Quote:
DFKT Minimum Clip v2

Minimal no-nonsense theme. Falls back to file/folder names when no metadata is present. Also includes base skin and FM radio interface. The "R" icon in the status bar is a Replaygain status indicator. Theme shows warnings when volume level is above 0dB, when sample rate isn't 44.1kHz, and when Replaygain is enabled but no Replaygain tags are available for the current track. Version: 2.02

Thanks for the clue. The big theme page at the Rockbox site doesn't even mention the Zip yet.

Oh. Between the Fuze v2 and the Fuze+.

I plead blindness, illiteracy, and/or ignorance of the lexicographic ordering in use.

Saratoga, maybe Scorche should add "Sandisk" to the Zip and Fuze+ names on the theme site, for consistency.

Default Sandisk Clip V1 - Skip to next song or Track (like the OF did).

After hours playing with rockbox and endless googling - I just haven't found a answer or way to confirm that (for some odd reason) the skip current song is neither supported in rockbox or something is wrong in my settings. I doubt the latter as I have tried almost every single themes, setting, and reloaded rockbox a number of times.

On the off chance anyone is even still on these.....

Anybody confirm this?

Also can't seem to get out of FM, unless I shut down and restart.

Otherwise I found X8-clip and it was perfect.

I've removed rockbox, but i just can't figure out why that option would be deleted, or so hard to configure.

I still have one that works. I mostly use it in the OF because Rockbox cuts the battery by about half. I just checked using the current build 4601a8b-120305. Track skipping and FM radio are working properly for me.

Try Settings=>Playback Settings=>Prevent Track Skipping=>no. It's the only setting I know that would cause what you describe.

Coming out of FM is done with Short Power.

Long
Power causes the shutdown.

THANKS, I'll try again. Wanted to make sure it works for someone, before I go through it again.

A couple of times I could swear it worked, but wasn't paying close attention at that point.

I had been flipping around different themes and did a couple of full installs (I have more than one for the kids - but labeled on the back), which may mean I corrupted the heck out of the firmware.

They ain't gonna buy the not skipping the track, only I care about the FM problem (ESPN radio).

So you are saying the batt life is worse with RockBox, I though (somewhere) someone claimed it was better...

I'll have to do some of the extensive geek testing my wife hates so much!

With the V2 AMSv2 players battery life is better. The V1 Clip is a AMSv1 player. The battery life is worse on V1 players.
