Hey everyone, I'm in the market for a new mp3 player and realized I have know idea how the SQ on my Samsung k3 compares to other players out there.
thought we could start a thread where people could post their mp3/pmp's and get some feedback so they can know where their starting point is. to start us off: Samsung k3: heard it's got good audio quality, i've always enjoyed it. not quite powerful enough for some speaker systems but otherwise good. |

Audio quality is subjective. What sounds good to one person can sound like crap to another.
Even if you used some sort of comparative evaluation with the right gear to tell the difference, it's still a matter of personal preference.

Pretty much all modern DAP's are of nearly the same quality. Most of what is going to make one unit sound better than another is the EQ software it has.
Cowon, is renowned for having great EQ software. Sony has pretty a pretty good EQ as well. I don't know much about Samsungs or the EQ on your DAP. If it is capable of being RockBoxed then you should definitely do that. Rockbox has GREAT EQ software and is available on many different portable units.

http://nwavguy.blogspot.com/ Do some reading. This question is much more complicated then you seem to realize. I've never even heard of that player, so I don't know. That said, there is not a huge amount of difference between players these days. Most are generally good enough for most headphones, but will have some trouble with difficult to drive ones.

May also depend on which speaker system. I have used all of my mp3 players with a few different speaker systems without problem. Which is why I wonder if your player is European. Steve |

Samsung MP3 players have good seven- or nine-band equalizers.
