safe to wear headphone in light rain/snowfall

today it began to snow for the second time in the winter.
i wondered if it is safe for the headphones/player to use still the headphones (in general) when it's raining/snowing.
when i used to have my inears i didn't care much and didn't put them away.

Extreme situations is why everyone needs a beater DAP & phones. I use my clips out on the water all the time and so far I've not lost one yet ...

wow. back then when i used to have some archos player (with 256mb ) it broke just after the second rain

My saying of the week is "Everybody should own a Sansa Clip". This might be another reason.

Walking in a light snow, with a Clip set to shuffle, and clipped inside my jacket. IEMs. Not worried at all.

On-topic, I don't really see a problem with using headphones in the rain, although I would still keep it away from heavy moisture.

well, at the moment i use the shure srh 440 as main phones. my in ears are still out for repair. for full sized phones i can see a problem with the moisture though.

Umbrella? I use full size cans and the only annoying thing is banging them with the umbrella stem. Have to admit I dvr the *early* morning news for the weather every day though.

I use my TMA-1s outside all the time, I however also use a hood to cover my headphones whenever I have to be out in the rain/snow.

You mean this updated post Everyone should own a beater DAP and IEM/headphone combo. 3 of my v1 clips are refurbs that cost me under $20.00 which work great for extreme situations.
