Reclaiming my MP3 files from iTunes

After a hard-fought battle, I am now the proud owner of a Sansa Fuze. Very nice it is too.

However, large proportions of my music that were sitting quite comfortably in Media Player has now been hijacked by iTunes (in my daughters account).

a) I don't know how this happened but suspect that iTunes got downloaded/updated to my personal desktop and helped itself to my music

b) Can I get it all back - and how?

c) Can I stop this happening in future?

Download Media Monkey and let it scan the Music folder - then use it as the sync software.

BTW if you wish, you can use MM to sync with your daughters ipod too and dump the bloatware

That depends on which iPod she has. Shuffle or Nano, yes....Touch or iPhone, I don't think so, unless they have an old version of iOS on them.

We have a lull in Christmas-related proceedings in the house, so I thought that I would wish everyone Seasons Greetings/Happy Holidays, depending upon your personal beliefs. Hope you had a good day, whatever you ended up doing!!!

I have just returned from a wonderful holiday in India, but, as a consequence of a last-minute rush to download to the Fuze from Media Monkey, it appears not everything I had extracted from iTunes had converted, so many albums were missing.

I don't seem to be able to sync many files as they are either 'inaccesible' or the wrong format. MM won't let me access the help files, so I'm a bit stuck. Any suggestions as to how I can get my music?
