this could be caused by a firmware conflict. in recovery mode try the 'format all' function, then choose 'reload firmware' to load the firmware of the 30gb ZVM to the hard drive that has the 60gb firmware. If that doesn't work, I suggest that you buy a ZIF to IDE/SATA adapter so you can hook it up to your PC and format it with Windows Disk Manager. remove the partition first but don't format it using FAT32/NTFS. Just remove the existing Data on it along with the partition.
