How to choose an FM Transmitter

I'm in the process of finding an fm transmitter and the task in daunting! Especially since you can't try them out. For example, Belkin and Griffin both have four or five different ones on Amazon. Even the websites don't have much information.

Would like one that can tune to 87.7 and 87.9, which only the Griffin line says it does.

What newer items work for all of you?

I usually look for ones that are not approved by the FCC. They wont approve units over a certain power rating. And the higher power rating they are the better they will work. So as in alot of cases, going illegal is the best option.

Hmm, not even sure where to begin to look for those. I've narrowed it down to something from Griffin because they are the only ones that I can find that go below 88.1.
